about your instructor
With over 15 years of experience in international refereeing, I have had the opportunity to work at the highest levels of fencing, including the Olympics and the World Championships. My passion for fencing and refereeing has led me to be named top 3 referee in saber by the FIE in three different years. I am excited to share my knowledge and experiences with current and future referees, and help you achieve your full potential.

Basics
Learn the basics of theory, rules, application and test your knowledge. Currently working on a intro/basics course for the absolute novice.
01
Foundation
Level 1 assumes the individual has some experience with fencing either as an athlete, coach or a recreational fencer. Level 1 covers rules, theory, penalties and practical application. USA Fencing's Referee Seminar satisfies this level.
02
Advanced
This level focuses specifically on the nuances of the Saber weapon. We go in depth into theory, rules, penalties, and more exercises and pratical application. After this level, you should feel confident in refereeing at larger and more difficult levels such as NACs, Nationals, and some international events.
03
International
Preparing for the FIE exam can be challenging as well as improving your international level. This level is tailored to those referees who are looking to gain more knowledge and to excel on the world's stage. Included is exam prep and 1:1 sessions.
